We’re Shifting: Why This Blog Is Getting Personal

women getting personal

There was a time I believed that if I could just “get my money right,” everything else would fall into place. The dream man would show up. The perfect life would click together. I’d be stacking savings, tithing like clockwork, sipping something cute on a weekend girls’ trip, all with zero stress.

But life doesn’t always unfold the way that you think it will.

What started out as a blog focused on debt, budgets, and credit scores has been slowly transforming, because I have been transforming. And if I’m honest, I’ve outgrown the version of myself who only wanted to share financial tips without the full context of who I really am.

So… we’re shifting.

This isn’t just a blog post. This is a welcome mat into the next chapter of Transforming Finances one that sees you in the middle of the story. Your hopes, your habits, your healing, your heart and yes, your money, too.

I’ve Been Where You Are

I know what it’s like to feel caught between your current season and the one you thought you’d be in by now. To want to be a good steward but still wrestle with impulse spending. To be content with singleness while also praying (and preparing) for a future family. To get excited about a vacation… and then feel low-key guilty because that money could’ve gone toward an investment.

I’ve stood in front of my closet, wondering why I had nothing to wear but a budget that said look again lol.
I’ve laid in bed scrolling, comparing timelines, careers, ring fingers, and clean kitchens.
I’ve asked God questions I never said out loud, like: Is it okay to want more… even if I’m not sure how to ask for it?

So I’m no longer trying to serve up financial tips in a vacuum. I’m here to build a space that speaks to the whole woman: her bank account, her brokenness, her bold prayers, and her big dreams.

🌿 Scripture Reflection: Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

When I started making Christ not my five-year plan or my financial spreadsheet—the center of how I make decisions, everything began to shift. Not instantly. Not always visibly. But deeply. This journey isn’t about chasing perfection or performing for the algorithm of life. It’s about seeking God first. The rest, clarity, contentment and provision will come. That’s the promise.

Who This Blog Is For Now

If you’re a single woman between 30 and 50 who loves Jesus but sometimes wonders what’s next…

If you’re working hard, planning wisely, and still questioning if you’re behind…

If you want to take control of your finances without pretending like everything is under control…

This blog is for you.

We’re going to talk about what it really looks like to fund the lifestyle you desire travel, therapy, skincare, savings accounts, business ideas, while still honoring God, your values, and your future self.

We’re not waiting until marriage or motherhood to get financially healthy and emotionally whole. We’re not letting shame, guilt, or social media pressure rob us of contentment and confidence. And we’re definitely not doing it alone.

What You Can Expect From Me

I’m not your average finance coach, and this won’t be your average Christian blog. Around here, we’re doing something different.

Here’s what you can expect going forward:

Christ-centered financial wisdom grounded in the Word, not just the world
Money mindset truths especially around comparison, self-worth, and emotional spending
Practical tips on credit, budgeting, saving, investing, and avoiding lifestyle creep
Stories from my real life the “wins” and the “what was I thinking?” moments
Free tools + resources like PDFs, checklists, and devotionals you can actually use
A new vibe because money talk doesn’t have to be dry or depressing

The Journey Ahead (Next Up: The Comparison Trap)

Now that we’ve gotten that out the way, let’s talk about something I know we’ve all wrestled with: comparison.

You ever scroll through someone’s feed, see them living soft, debt-free, happily boo’d up, traveling the world, and suddenly feel like your progress is trash? Yeah. Same.

But comparison is a trap and I’ve been caught in it more times than I can count. In my next post, I’m going deep into how social media can quietly mess with our money mindset and how I’m learning to climb out of that mental loop, one truth at a time.

🌿 Scripture Reflection: Proverbs 4:25–26 (NLT)
“Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path.”

It’s too easy to get caught up looking at what she’s doing, what they’ve accomplished, or how far along someone else seems. But God’s been reminding me: Eyes forward. The race He’s called you to run has its own lane, its own pace, and its own blessing. This verse keeps me grounded when comparison starts creeping in. Stay focused, sis the path ahead is yours and yours alone.

Final Word

This shift is personal but it’s also purposeful.

It’s about helping women who love God and want good credit. Who tithe and want a travel fund. Who worship God in spirit and truth and still enjoy free shipping with Amazon Prime. Who are healing, growing, hoping, and becoming.

If that’s you I see you. I am you.

Let’s grow together.

With love,
Leah 💛
